Move For Safety. Stand Up Against Street Harassment.

We all deserve to feel safe in public spaces. This virtual event empowers people across the country to take a stand against street harassment by simply moving where you live. Whether you walk, run, wheelchair, or cycle, every kilometre sends a clear message: harassment has no place on our streets.

How It Works

Participating is easy and fits right into your schedule. Why not get a small group together to run with, or move alongside, for extra motivation and community?

  • When: 17th - 23rd November 2025 (Any activity, anytime during this week.)
  • Where: Any location you choose—your local park, neighbourhood, or bike trail.
  • Activity: Walk, run, cycle, or use a wheelchair for any distance you are comfortable with.
  • Goal: Raise awareness about street harassment and promote safer public spaces for everyone.

Share Your Stand

Show your solidarity! Before, during, or after your activity, we encourage you to share your experience on social media. Tell us why you got involved and help us amplify the message!

Why We Move: Our Mission

Street harassment—which includes unwanted comments, gestures, touching, following, and forms of abuse like body shaming—is a persistent barrier to feeling safe and free in public.

This major problem severely limits who can, or wants to, access and enjoy public spaces to exercise. While it disproportionately affects women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people of colour, we recognise that harassment impacts individuals across all demographics, including men.

This virtual event is about:

  • Visibility: Showing solidarity across the country and raising public awareness of the issue and its impact on everyone.
  • Empowerment: Helping all individuals reclaim their right to move freely and safely.
  • Community: Building a supportive network of people committed to creating safer public spaces.
  • Action: Encouraging conversations and actions that lead to real change in our communities.
